Who we are
Super Learning Series is a small publisher of learning materials.
How our resources are built
Everything we produce is built from the same word lists. The worksheets give focused practice on one spelling pattern at a time — they are practice material rather than an assessment.
Alongside them sits our assessment framework, which breaks spelling down into competencies. The assessment in the SLS Spelling app implements that framework, working out which competencies a learner has secured, which still need work, and which word lists to concentrate on next.
The worksheets are independent of the assessment — they are not built around its competencies — but they map to those same word lists, so the lists an assessment points to have worksheets to go with them.
- Words are sequenced by pattern rather than by theme.
- Every worksheet has a matching answer sheet for quick marking.
- Sheets are designed to print cleanly in black and white on A4.
How they can be used
The materials work equally well as a whole class exercise or as targeted catch-up practice.
Where we are going
We are currently developing the SLS Spelling app, which brings our spelling assessment to iPad and iPhone with spoken words and instant feedback, drawing on the same word lists as the worksheets.
